You can configure the Commander G3 codecs before you send it to the remote broadcast site so all the talent has to know is how to plug in power, a telco line, an audio input and then dial a number. Commander G3 is the first codec to feature two expansion slots which accept your choice of hardware and software modules. Combinations of modules offer you 15kHz mono over POTS, Dual Mono over POTS, Stereo over POTS, Mono/Stereo over ISDN, GSM wireless to landline and Mono/Stereo Audio over IP and data networks*.

You simply buy the low cost codec hardware or software module you need. You can make the codec as simple or as fully featured as required. Now that’s flexible!

Commander G3 also offers simultaneous off-air communications over POTS, ISDN or GSM networks in addition to your main program channel. Now you have all of your programming and studio to remote site communications taken care of in one box. It’s simple to set up and even simpler to use.

Note: program and communications channels can only operate over POTS, or ISDN or GSM or IP right now. Later this year (2005) you can enjoy a FREE software upgrade which will offer multiple simultaneous network operation.

To provide even more flexibility we’ve built a digital audio matrix router into each codec. The purpose of the router is to configure simple broadcasting profiles such as mono, stereo, live off air communications with your program channel, dual mono, cue, intercom and bonded mono configurations. These come standard with your Commander G3. If you want to custom route any audio input to any audio output for your programming or off air communications you can purchase a software unlock key and then use our Digital Cross Point router interface to select which input goes to which output, or headphone or encoder or decoder at either end of your link.

Tieline Commander G3 field and studio rack mount codecs are also perfect for stereo or mono studio to transmitter links (STLs) over ISDN, POTS or Audio over IP. An optional Fail-Over software toolkit can detect a failure over your main STL link and automatically switch over to a backup ISDN, POTS or Audio over IP* link attached to the same Commander G3 codec.

It even offers a comprehensive range of remote control options including 2 x control relay inputs and outputs (expandable to 8) which can be locally or remotely activated and control of your remote talent’s audio input from the studio. Low bit rate data channels embedded in the Tieline audio algorithm allow for remote control data to be sent from one PC to another PC via your codec link while you are broadcasting.
