Note: This product
has been discontinued however customer support and upgrades are
still available.
The Commander POTS codec with optional ISDN upgrade and wireless
interface delivers clean 15kHz bi-directional low delay audio over
a standard telephone link. It features two mic/line switchable balanced
audio inputs, one balanced output and two CMOS relay contact closures
and switchable 10-LED VU meter and full remote controllability.
The Commander can be upgraded with a plug and play ISDN interface
card and software kit capable of delivering 15kHz audio over a single
56 or 64kb B channel or 7kHz speech using the popular G722 algorithm.
Choose from a range of data casting upgrade options for greater
datacasting power. Commander is available in a 2RU rack unit and
a compact field unit.
ISDN Options: The Tieline has been designed to
attach an optional ISDN communication module which enables 64kbps
and 56kbps data rates to be used. Both of these rates support the
Tieline 15kHz studio quality music algorithm and popular G.722 standard
algorithm.
1. It remembers: Tieline is so simple to use. Because
Tieline remembers the last settings programmed, journalists can
take preset units into the field. All they need to know is how to
plug in a power cord, a telephone line and a microphone then dial
a telephone number and their on the air. Or station engineers can
remote control the field Tieline entirely from the studio.
2. Stable connections: Apart from providing 15kHz
FM quality audio with a low 100ms delay, the Tieline is the first
POTS codec to feature specially designed modem software which eliminates
line drops, audio loops and audio dropouts. If you're tired of unreliable
connections with your POTS codec, trial the Tieline for free and
you'll understand why your competition is making the switch.
3. See the link quality: The Tieline provides a
"Line Quality Visual Display". Now you can actually see
how good your connection is. You can make instant decisions about
the integrity of your link and virtually guarantee a solid connection
for the duration of your broadcast. Tieline is so stable that stations
around the world are using them as studio transmitter links 24 hours
a day 7 days a week.
4. Connection control: Tieline is the only codec
that allows you to renegotiate your connection rate "up"
to take advantage of higher quality audio. In addition the Tieline
can renegotiate up or down in only 1 second. All other pots codecs
take between 10 and 15 seconds to change the connection rate and
they can only go down. That's a long time to be off air.
5. Remote control: Tieline is the first POTS codec
to provide a host of Remote Control facilities. Now station engineers
or operators can remote control the dial up, renegotiations and
even the input audio levels of a remote Tieline. For example, if
the audio level from the remote Tieline coming back to the studio
is too high or too low, the station engineer can remotely raise
or lower the input audio levels of the remote Tieline from the studio
Tieline without interrupting the broadcast. No other codec has this
feature. You don't have to rely on your talent to be technical anymore.
6. Relay control: You can also remote control equipment
at either end of the link using the CMOS Relay Contact Closures
on each Tieline. Many users find it useful to trigger CD players,
on air lights, specific faders on their broadcast mixing consoles
or other equipment remotely while they are broadcasting. No other
POTS codec offers this feature.
7. Auto reconnection: Should a power failure or
telephone line failure occur, the Tieline will automatically redial
and re-establish the link. All other POTS codecs wait for you to
manually redial. In addition, the Tieline can be set to automatically
connect at a special time each day.
8. Control lock: Once you have connected the Tieline
you can lock out all local audio level and button controls ensuring
the wrong hands don't interrupt your transmission.
9. Internet upgrades: Tieline is the first codec
to offer complete technology upgrades over the internet. Our heavy
commitment to technology enhancement means the performance of the
Tieline continues to improve. Now you can download and upgrade the
software from our website to ensure you're always running the latest
technology. 80% of upgrades are Free
10. Data transmission: The Tieline allows up to
200 bits per second of data transmission in addition to the full
bandwidth audio in both directions. You can control RS232 equipment
remotely or locally using the data port on the Tieline while you're
broadcasting.
11. Free software kit: Tieline comes with a PC
software package capable of operating the entire codec from a PC.
Tieline Toolbox software kit features full dialing, link renegotiations,
upgrade, link monitoring and function setup capabilities. It even
has a chat function which operates much like the popular ICQ or
MIRC programs over your Tieline link giving you extra communications
ability. This software package is valued at $500 and is yours free
with every Tieline purchase
