Tieline Technology announces the development of a new iPhone®* application called Report-IT Live, which turns your iPhone into an IP audio codec for live portable wireless news gathering.

“Now, owners of Tieline IP audio codecs can use their iPhone as a highly portable, remote broadcast reporting tool for capturing and transmitting live, high quality audio to their Tieline codecs in the studio,” said Anthony Sizer, Tieline’s Enterprise Systems and Mobility Manager. “A reporter can download the Report-IT Live application onto their iPhone from the App Store™ and with one-touch connect to a Tieline IP audio codec at the studio using either 3G cellular wireless or Wi-Fi. The Report-IT Live app enables live two-way reporting with the studio by sending low delay bidirectional FM quality audio.”

With the Report-IT Live software app you can also report live and record the interview on the iPhone at the same time, to keep a copy of your live report. You can even report live and play grabs from any recorded interview while you’re on the air.

You can also conduct an interview offline and store the report for forwarding later. Audio files can be forwarded live to a Tieline codec in the studio or uploaded via FTP with no codec required in the studio.

“Initial feedback from large radio network news directors indicates the Report-IT Live App will meet the increasing demand for simple, elegant and highly portable, low-cost IP audio newsgathering solutions,” said Darren Levy, Tieline’s International Marketing Manager. “Report-IT Live will connect to Tieline’s G3 and G5 series IP audio codecs as well as the recently released Bridge-IT IP codec.”

Report-IT has been designed for:

  • Live stand-ups.
  • Live two-way interviews to the studio with up to two interviewees at the remote location using individual microphones and headphones.
  • Live sports and event announcing over IP.
  • Reporting live and recording audio simultaneously.
  • Recording reports.
  • Storing and forwarding of recorded reports to the studio.

The Report-IT iPhone application will be on display at NAB 2010 on booth C157.
